The Canadian River breaks and Lake Meredith in the Texas Panhandle — red-rock canyons with cottonwood, hackberry and soapberry in the side draws. Morels in the cottonwoods in wet springs; puffballs and Agaricus after summer storms. National Recreation Area land.
