Hualapai Mountains

The Hualapai Mountains southeast of Kingman — a sky island of ponderosa pine, Gambel oak and white fir rising from the Mojave Desert to 8,400 ft. Boletes, Amanita and Russula fruit under the pines after the July–August monsoon; oysters on dead oak. County park and BLM land.
