Mixed northern hardwood (sugar maple, beech, yellow birch) and dry-sand jack pine plains (Kirtland's warbler habitat) on glacial outwash. Spring morels in aspen-birch and after jack-pine harvests; chanterelles in hardwood-pine edges; matsutake-candidate Tricholoma magnivelare in jack pine duff in fall; hedgehog (Hydnum repandum) in mixed forest.
