The Markagunt Plateau around Brian Head and Cedar Breaks in the Dixie NF — spruce-fir and huge aspen stands above 9,000 ft with bristlecone on the rims. King boletes, chanterelles and hawk's wing after the monsoon; morels in the aspen and burns after snowmelt.
