The Souris River valley around Minot and Burlington, where the Des Lacs River joins the Souris — bur oak, ash and cottonwood woods in the river valley and coulees. Morels in spring; oysters and puffballs through summer. Upper Souris and Des Lacs NWRs lie upriver to the northwest; check refuge rules there.
